observations from a slightly mad german-american

I'm thinking that, at least for my own purposes, I'm going to start keeping a movie-viewing log. My wife and I rent from blockbuster each week. Believe it or not, the store in Grafton has a good selection of International and Art-House films.

Anyway, in a discussion with a friend this week, I was trying to remember a Spanish film I watched about two month's ago that I really enjoyed. I found it. Espinazo del diablo (The Devil's Backbone).

The American distributors for some reason tried to market it as a semi-horror movie. It is not. It is, however, a great suspense movie a 'la Hitchkock with a supernatural element.
